EK Series, chain cutter attachments
Vibration-free trench cutting in hard rock. Kemroc's signature attachment, refined across nine carrier sizes.
The Kemroc EK Series introduced the chain cutter to the world, the first of its kind, and still the benchmark. Nine models cover excavators from 2 to 70 tonnes, cutting stone with uniaxial compressive strengths up to 140 MPa. Because the cutter operates with a chain rather than a swinging boom, the excavator carries virtually no shock load and the operator gets a perfect trench profile every time. Used across infrastructure trenching, foundation cutdowns, gypsum and limestone mining, and underwater work. Distributed and supported in Australia by Monty Products.
Vibration-Free Cutting
Operates like a bucket, no swing motion, minimal shock load on the carrier. Reduces excavator wear, protects nearby structures and improves operator comfort across long shifts.
40% More Efficient
The chain-and-drum design uses approximately 40% less energy than equivalent drum cutters without a chain. More work per litre of fuel, more uptime per maintenance interval.
Cutting Widths 390 - 1,000 mm
Nine models with a wide range of cutter head widths. Match trench geometry to specification rather than oversizing the cut to fit the tool.

Where It Works
Common applications across Australian construction, demolition and civil sites.
Pipe & cable trenching
Narrow trenches with perfect profile in rock up to 140 MPa. Suited to services trenching where rock saws and rippers can't keep up.
Foundation cutting
Mill out concrete foundations and footings with precise depth control. Selective demolition without damaging surrounding structures.
Selective mining
Vibration-free extraction of gypsum, limestone and other soft-to-medium minerals where blasting is restricted.
Tunnelling
Drift and tunnel excavation in mixed and hard ground, minimal vibration on adjacent structures.
Underwater operation
The EK series is rated for underwater operation with appropriate hose protection. Covers harbour, channel and pipeline work below the waterline.
Channel & culvert works
Cutting drainage channels and culvert profiles where the trench geometry has to be precise on the first pass.
