RSS Series, scrap shear

Through-cut tonnes of steel in the blink of an eye. 1,995 t at the throat, fast cycle to mill-ready pieces.

The Rotar RSS scrap shear is built for production scrap processing. Six models cover excavators from 13 t (RSS 20 on boom) up to 130 t (RSS 150 on dipper). Throat cutting forces reach 1,995 t on the RSS 150, with rapid cycle times across the range. Replaceable cutting knives, completely encased nose knives, and a jaw design that forces material deep into the highest cutting-power zone. Double hose connection on the swivel keeps oil flow optimum and stops heat building up. Distributed in Australia by Monty Products.

Material Forced to the Throat

Jaw geometry forces material deep into the throat where the highest cutting power is available, up to 1,995 t on the RSS 150. Replaceable cutting knives plus encased nose knives.

Speed Valve in the Cylinder

The hydraulic cylinder includes Rotar's integrated speed valve, fast jaw closure with effortless switch to power mode the moment the cut needs more force.

Dual-Hose Swivel Connection

Double hose connection on the swivel with large-diameter hoses, bores and pipes creates optimum oil flow, stops heat buildup, reduces fuel consumption.

Where It Works

Common applications across Australian construction, demolition and civil sites.

Scrap yard processing

Reduce mixed scrap to mill-ready pieces, the everyday workhorse for steel recyclers.

Structural steel cutting

Through-cut beams, columns, channels and angle sections during decommissioning.

Pipe & tube cutting

Process pipework, tube and conduit from industrial demolition and infrastructure projects.

Mixed metal handling

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the same workflow, cut and sort in one cycle.

Decommissioning

Industrial plant, ship and rolling-stock decommissioning, bulk steel reduction.

Rebar & cable cutting

Severing reinforcement and electrical cable during selective demolition.
